i'm looking forward to the "pink film festival" in the university of the philippines film institute this month. it's a showcase of homosexually-oriented movies and short films, the most personally anticipated of which are those by fil-am director q. allan brocka. the best part about this event is that admission is free in UP. his film shorts are scheduled on june 28th (a monday), though, and i'm not sure if i'll be able to watch it--but i really want to.
there are other movies to watch on more convenient days, and the plus part is that one of my friends who has mysteriously sworn never to watch movies in any local movie theater (allegedly for fear of mites and bugs) for life, has agreed to watch "farewell, my concubine" at the UP film institute.
it's independence day today, a very rainy one. i got my red sandals and jeans all soaking wet. today also marks the increase of passenger jeepney minimum fare from four pesos to a burdensome P5.50. times are truly hard.
