On a gorgeous Sunday afternoon in Illinois, my aunt took my parents and I speedboating (a first for me) through Kankakee River, which join Des Plains River and Illinois River, collectively and simply known as "Three Rivers."
That's my aunt lounging in front of the boat as we sped through the waters up to 50 miles an hour, sometimes encountering "water bumps" when it got too wavy.
We talked about the trips we took over the summer. Her family had gone to Sarasota in Florida, while I told her we browsed online for Myrtle Beach Hotels back in April. Seeing how big her house was in the "Prairie State," I knew that she can easily afford to stay in a Myrtle Beach Resort with her family if she wanted to. I wonder, though, if any of the Myrtle Beach Resorts out there in South Carolina would be up to par with her standards.
There was a part of the river with a gate that leads to the Mississippi River. People can anchor their boats near that entrance and wait for the gate to open at designated times of the day. It must be fun to cruise along one of the longest rivers in the United States...but now that it's autumn, it's too cold to be boating in the open air.

I think I've never tried speedboating yet. That's a cool photo of your aunt.
Wow...speedboating through the Kankakee River...must be fun !
wow..sosyal! I like your aunt's photo. it must be cool doing that.
What fun with the breeze blowing through your hair as you speed past stationary objects. I never knew about the gate to the Mississippi River entrance. I could imagine the traffic jam that creates.
what a catchy title. looks like you had a great time aboard the boat. have a nice day.
