while repeatedly listening to this song by cake (watch the video! it's hilarious! they let strangers listen to the song and filmed their reactions) on youtube, i doodled around and tried to see what my rusty drawing skills could muster and came up with this girl. no pencils, just a regular ballpoint pen. [copyright for the drawing belongs to me]
this is my favorite part of the lyrics:
I want a girl
With uninterrupted prosperity
Who uses a machete
To cut through red tape
With fingernails
That shine like justice
And a voice that is dark
Like tinted glass
the girl in this song is a sexy superhero on wall street, i imagine...with a machete. and of course, a short skirt and a loooooong...jacket. i think i know the perfect superhero name for her, too--"bailout girl"! saving wall street one bailout at a time! haha.
further proof that the song describes a superhero named "bailout girl": the lyrics also say,
I want a girl
With a smooth liquidation
I want a girl
With good dividends
hahaha! wait, or maybe it's ivanka trump. haha!
whatever happened to cake?
p.s. don't ask me how many times i played "short skirt, long jacket" by cake...i lost count. eep!
p.p.s. this song can be heard as the opening music for nbc's popular series, "chuck" about an electronics store clerk who gets thrown into the world of secret agents, one of them being a blonde bombshell.
p.p.p.s. i also like this other song by cake called "never there."
