These colorful characters welcomed travelers at Taipei's Taoyuan Airport. They're the mascots for Taipei's International Flora Exposition which will start on November 6th this year.
The horticultural expo is said to feature a theme of “Rivers, Flowers, New Horizons.” The Expo will include 14 exhibition halls, each with its own unique style, spread across an area of 91.8 hectares, all dedicated to showcasing notable achievements in horticulture, science, and environmental protection technology."
The mascots are actually "flower fairies" representing the changing of the seasons in harmony with the rhythm of nature, hence forming this "flower band." Aren't they horticulturally cute? A lot of people had their pictures taken with this floral band..and most of them wielded the "peace" sign. Oh I had mine taken here too, I couldn't pass up the photo op so I undertook this traveling-solo-and-need-a-photo challenge.
Which hairstyle do you like best? I think mine would be the orange one. It hearkens back to ye olde "Meteor Garden days". And he/she has a star mole on the cheek!

oh these are so cute. do they have stuff toy versions of these?
i didn't see any at the duty free shops. i think they might have them at the expo itself, though.
