Last week, I showed you the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics postage stamp from USPS. This time, here's an official postcard I received through Postcrossing recently. It's the "west end of Vancouver along English Bay, with the snowy North Shore Mountains as a backdrop."
The official logo for this year's Winter Games in Vancouver features the "Inukshuk," which has been used by the native Inuit people in the Canadian arctic wilderness as markers made with piles of rocks shaped like a human to guide travelers. It has evolved as a symbol of friendship and hope and now an Olympic emblem.
They have the Olympic mascots on their stamps! This one has Quatchi, a hockey-loving Sasquatch--which is the hairy Canadian cousin of Big Foot. Meet the other Olympic mascots here and watch their supercute video! (Miga reminds me of that character, Qoo)
All this winter talk makes me want to bundle up some more and read up on rheumatoid arthritis information. Or maybe I should just get myself some warm tea!

I too am looking forward to the Winter Olympics - I always love the skating and the luge racing. Well, the snow boarding too. And the giant slalom!
Arent't those mountains just fabulous?! Wow! Happy PFF!
Cute mascot and lovely postcard.
Hope you can keep yourself warm... it looks freezing cold in your world :-)
Oh fantastic! I saw the first trailer for the Olympics on television this evening.
Great postcard and stamps. I can hardly wait for the Olympics to begin! The winter Olympics are my favorite. Happy PFF
Love your postcard, I've been looking out for some interesting ones, without much luck. It's so cold here that I think I'll join you in that hot tea. I'd hoped to learn to knit before the Olympics started but I'm such a slow learner.
oh my that card is beautiful even the stamp.
Nice souvenirs and cute mascots! I like Miga and Sumi, but not sure about Quatchi. :D
Quatchi is adorable! Great post!
