Sometime last week, our buffet lunch at Royal Buffet restaurant burst into Royal Flames.
At first, the lights went out. No emergency power kicked in, so we were eating in semi-dimness inside. My grandfather-judge and I were contemplating about the possible liabilities that situation can cause to its customers, such as choking on a piece of bone because of light insufficiency, or people slipping on a stray morsel on the floor.
About twenty minutes after that, the Chinese waiters were yelling at each other in their own tongue. And then, we were told to leave the restaurant because the back of the restaurant was on fire. We quickly grabbed our coats and belongings and went outside, shocked to see that a huge smoke was already billowing on top of the restaurant. It didn't smell like anything was on fire while we were inside.
It must be a message from heaven that I should really stop indulging in buffets and consider diets that work. We're thankful, though, that we didn't become part of the menu as burnt meat. All we missed was dessert.

That was scary!
wow., that's really scary.. good thing you were able to go out in time, with your belongings and everything too..
thank God you were ok. I would have panicked if I were in that situation...
wow! i kinda wanted to laugh while reading this. "bloopers kaayo". sowee. hehehe. kidding aside, i'm glad you didn't get hurt and didn't panic. i wonder why it took them 20 mins to announce to its customers that the establishment/kitchen was on fire...
