I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this pirate ship sailing through the Hudson River on Columbus Day! Was it a privately-owned ship or was it a new sight-seeing boat ride I wasn't aware of? Or maybe it was just a fancy-looking schooner that looked like a pirate ship. I mean, there were no skull-and-crossbones. I wonder if Jack Sparrow was in it?
Anyway, here's the closest postcard I have to a pirate ship--something I got from "The Original Benjamin's Calabash" Seafood Buffet restaurant from my trip to Myrtle Beach. This model ship is the first thing you'll see upon entering this mansion of seafood madness:
A piece of Hollywood...right on Myrtle Beach!

9 vandalized my wall:
contrast between modernity, skyscrapers, and the lone pirate ship...ahoy...
wonderful post combining your great photo and the postcard ... I may have to visit Myrtle Beach ...wouldn't want to miss the seafood there! ;D
How wonderful! I thoroughly enjoyed your post! And a happy PFF to you!
Now I've seen it all...well I've seen a picture of it all. Pirates in New York? Hollywood on the beach? Nice.
I forgot what NYC looks like, it has been years since I left. I see The Empire State Bldg, and Im wondering if this could be by the South Street Seaport.
I used to collect postcards in the 70's and I still have them, including my stamp collections.
Nice meme!
This is fabulous! I had completely forgot about Columbus day too!
That's a real ship on the Hudson? What a great sight that must have been!
I confess I've been sitting here transfixed by your clock in your sidebar. I can't stop watching it. :)
