Litratong Pinoy #64: Lansangan (Alleys/Street)

trashy

Here's something you won't see on any postcard from New York City: its trash! Heaps of it on most streets! This one was right at Herald Square near the flagship Macy's store on 34th Street. Come dusk, these bags of garbage sprout on curbs near most shops and restaurants, begging to be collected by the city's waste management crew.

It's definitely a tourist distraction! (You should see the ones by Canal St. in Chinatown!)

Haha.

so meron din palang ganyan jan... but the good thing is that they have imposed some rules like using transparent garbage bags only?

I haven't seen something like that here in Singapore yet. But I have seen the same in Japan. They just collect the garbages early in the morning.

i was also shocked to see trash everywhere near thames river and the london eye in london! there weren't any trash (or as the brits prefer, "rubbish") cans around for people to throw their trash into, so they're all over the streets!

Grabe may ganyan pala dyan.

the bigger the city, the bigger the trash. as long as regular ang collection at proper disposal -- okay na rin. Happy LP!

of course! kahit saan meron niyan, overrated kasi ang NYC kaya kala ng iba eh super linis doon.

meron nga yatang tao na na-feature dahil sa kanyang art made from nyc trash :)

Akala ko pa naman major streets like 34th have proper ways of dealing with their trash.
