today is "national wear red day", an effort by the american heart association's "go red for women" campaign to raise awareness about heart disease, the #1 killer of women in the united states.

macy's is among its proud sponsors. to motivate women to take part in the campaign and be rewarded at the same time, macy's offers an extra 20% discount on selected regular and sale merchandise when you shop in the store wearing red. this promo runs from february 4th-8th. if you forget to wear red on the specifed days, you can still get the discount when you buy the "red dress" pin for $2 to support the cause.
