Litratong Pinoy #84: Tawid (To Cross)

bamboobridge

What's the most treacherous bridge you had to cross on foot? Mine was this narrow bamboo bridge to get to a fishpond in my hometown in Capiz last May. It doesn't look so scary from this vantage point, but it's a different story when you start walking on it.

The poles are held together by ropes and it felt shaky most of the time, especially in the middle! My balancing skills were put to the test!

If you're not careful, you can fall off into these waters and swim with the fish. You're going to be wet and so will your face, smile wiped away and wrinkles in place. Just the thing that Prototype 37c aims to erase!

Luckily for me, I kept my poise and balance and didn't take a plunge that day!

Tinawid ko itong makitid na kawayan! Pang-Extra Challenge ito!

i've crossed a similar bridge in kalinga, but the hanging bridges in trinidad still give me the creeps especially when they start swaying uncontrollably.

nasubukan ko din tawirin ang hanging bridge sa Bohol. Kakatakot lalo na pag madulas!

Happy LP!

What's a trip to Capiz without crossing rickety make-shift bamboo bridges like this? When we were kids, we used to laugh at our Manila bred relatives who, for some reason, were falling off this kind of bridges! Kaladlawan sila. Pero sang ako na ang nahulog, not funny anymore! hihihi
